Sprint Galaxy Update Removes Local Search

Post-legal proceedings from the part of Apple, Sprint is now removing local search from their Galaxy Nexus devices.

Until a while ago, all models of the Galaxy Nexus, including the Google Play takju version, the various GSM yakju builds and variants, and the CDMA/LTE versions, had sported universal search.

With this service customers were able to search the web for contacts or media files. But Apple had filed a law suit against this, prompting the court to ban the sales of the takju model.

Earlier, Sprint Galaxy Nexus had announced updates in RSSI indicator fixes and LTE defaulting. But now they are also removing local search from their gadgets.

We are not sure how long these legal procedures will run, but now we  realize the fact that Samsung, Sprint and Google are taking away the features once they claimed to be giving away.
