Sony Xperia S Android 4.0 Update Pushed to End of June

Sony Xperia S owners will have to be a bit more patient about the imminent OS update. The Android 4.0 update, which was expected to reach the Sony Xperia S this month, has been pushed further by a month.

Sony’s flagship phone is yet to upgrade to the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform. It was only recently we learned that Android 4.0 update is coming this May or possibly by early June.

The rumor had spread from a casual announcement a company’s representative made at a Sony forum.

We know you guys are worried about the delay reports. But Sony assures that the problem is not at all technical, as the phone maker has clarified that the announcement was a mix-up and they originally intended the ICS update for Xperia S only by the end of June.

Apparently the May-June release of ICS was meant for another Xperia models released in 2011 from the Sony stables.

However, Sony refused to give us a solid date, but stated that it will not come until the end of the 2nd quarter, as previously planned.
