Sony Tablet P to Get Android 4.0 Update

Sony’s Tablet P is getting upgraded to Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Hope you remember this slate from Sony, the dual screened one.

The update was actually scheduled on 24th of last month; finally it is here though it got delayed for a couple of weeks.

Well, Tablet P owners, you can check the update by checking the System Updates section. This section is under the “About tablet” area in your Settings panel.

Other significant feature that comes apart from the OS upgrade is the direct SD card access. There are also new apps from Sony. This can be run without first minimizing whatever full-screen app is already there in place for viewing. There are new photo options as well.

For those who plan to buy the tablet, here are the basic specs you would need to know:

The processor is NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core of 1 GHz. Since it has got two screens, each one is of 5.5 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel displays. As you see in the pictures, you can just fold up the device and slide it into pocket. Apps can be used across both the screens or can be used each for separate functions.

Well, the OS update is available only in select markets during the launch. We hope it will soon roll out to other parts of the world as well.
