Sony Honami 1 to Debut This October

Leaked info regarding the Sony Honami 1 has appeared on the web again. If you remember, it was only last week that the images of Sony’s 20MP camera phone were leaked online.

Now, reports suggest that FCC has confirmed the device name to be Honami 1, which Sony is expected to announce on September 4, ahead of IFA Berlin. FCC’s new revelation points to a launch before September 30 and available for retail sale starting October 2013.

Honami 1 is a camera centric smartphone with whopping 20MP camera. There is a rumor that the phone uses Sony’s Cybershot brand. But others decline the rumor as they say that Sony will never use a Cybershot brand name to promote Android powered Xperia smartphones.

Recently, Samsung and Nokia had embedded their device with advance camera features. So, naturally Sony doesn’t want to back away.

The Honami will flaunt a 5-inch full HD display as in the Xperia Z Ultra. The phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor packed with 2GB of RAM. Other specs rumored are 16GB of internal memory, 4G LTE-A, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0.

The device might also employ a 3,00mAh Li Ion battery. The Xperia Z Ultra will be launched on July 30 in India.
