Samsung to Launch Quad-Core LTE Variant of Galaxy S III in Korea on July 9

Samsung will soon release the first quad-core LTE variant of Galaxy S III. As per reports, the device would be made available on Korean carriers on July 9. For now we do not know if the company plans to release this variant outside Korea.

It is being said that that due to the addition of the LTE chipset in the new version, the battery life of the device will suffer. The US version of the Galaxy S III with LTE uses the dual-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4.

The advantage of this dual-core Snapdragon variant is that it offers better battery life as compared to the Korean model. The latter uses quad-core Exynos processor that runs at 1.4GHz. This one proves to be worthy in certain areas. However, it is the US variant that scores in case of GPU.

The new variant has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. The features that have been kept as such are the 2,100mAh battery and DMB TV tuning.
