Samsung Galaxy Note II Vs Nokia Lumia 920

Samsung Galaxy Note II and Nokia Lumia 920 are two leading candidates in the mobile market for this holiday season. Lets find out what these two devices are offering us.


Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 2 is a huge device with a massive 5.5-inch display therefore it is called a phablet. The Galaxy Note 2 comes with a polycarbonate/plastic design, which is durable and easy to hold.

It measures 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm and weighs 180 grams. You will feel little bit difficult to hold this device because of its huge size. Where as the Nokia Lumia 920 is heavier and bulkier than the Galaxy Note 2. Its specifications include 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 mm thin, and it weighs 185 gram.


Samsung has changed the display of Galaxy Note 2 from the 5.3-inch to 5.5-inch display but all other things remains the same. It has a Super AMOLED HD display that offers a 1280 x 720 HD resolution and features 265 pixels-per-inch, a perfect screen for watching movies and TV. The Galaxy Note II’s screen allows for stylus input by the S-Pen accessory.

On the other side Nokia’s Lumia 920 offers a spacious display with HD resolution. It comes with a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack display with a 1280×768 resolution. You can read the texts in any light.


The Samsung Galaxy Note II has similar cameras to the original Galaxy Note. The 1.9 megapixel front facing camera is perfect for things like video chat and the rear camera, it can shoot good pictures but not outstanding.

But the Nokia Lumia 920 comes with a stellar 8 megapixel PureView rear camera, one of the best available on the smartphone devices. The front-facing camera of Lumia device is offering 1280 x 960 pixel resolution.


The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is preloaded with Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software, which means a super quick user interface, top notch Google Apps, a fantastic camera app and an improved Browser. The Galaxy Note II is one of the first devices to launch with the Jelly Bean. Above all Samsung’s TouchWiz will also come with some unique software like split-screen multi-task. Users will be able run two different apps at the same time.

Where as the Nokia’s Lumia 920 runs Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 8 operating system with a new user interface and NFC support.
