Review: Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro

Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro is the updated version of the earlier Rugby Smart and it has recently been unveiled by AT&T. The device follows the basic designs of its original.

The key feature in the device design is its hard exterior with a sturdy masculine exterior. The device is shock resistant, dust proof, and waterproof up to one meter deep for up to 30 minutes, thus meeting military specifications.

It comes with a thick, ribbed, soft touch plastic and rubber back. A volume rocker is provided on the left edge of the device along with a customizable key that can be used to turn on the torch or launch the camera. Power button is located at the right side of the device.

While taking the device specifications it features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 5megapixel rear-facing camera that shoots up to 720p HD video. Its Super AMOLED screen promises a perfect view even in the direct sunlight.

This updated version of Rugby Pro runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and includes EAS corporate email support, device encryption and Enhanced Push-to-Talk.

Under the hood, it hides a 768GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. There’s a microSD slot provided under the battery for storage expansion.

Verdict

It is an average device while considering the features. But its strong body can survive under extreme conditions.
