Review: Motorola Electrify M

US Cellular’s Motorola Electrify M is similar to the DROID RAZR M that comes on Verizon. The handset is now available on US Cellular at a price of $99. This mid-range handset packs a few high-end specs.

The Electrify M has a plain and dimpled silver backplate, in place of the the fancy Kevlar back of the DROID RAZR. The volume and power buttons are located at the right side, while the microUSB port and microSD card slots are on the left.

The Electrify M comes with a better spec list such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel rear camera. The handset also packs a 0.3-megapixel VGA-quality front-facing camera and the 4G LTE chip for fast access to internet.

The handset sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a resolution of 960×540 pixels. The screen offers bright color saturation with decent viewing angles.

The Electrify M runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Motorola’s own UI. US Cellular has also made a few slight changes and added a few exclusive apps to the mix.

The Electrify M has a compact size and huge screen, which is slightly larger than the iPhone 4/4S. The virtually borderless display is one of the main selling points of the handset.
