Review: Micromax Canvas 4

The much-awaited Micromax Canvas 4 is now so close to sale. The manufacturer has gone a step ahead by putting the device up for pre-order at Rs. 5,000 upfront. The remaining amount will be disclosed only on July 8, which is assumed to be the date fixed for the launch of Canvas 4.

If a customer prefers not to buy it after the retail value and specifications are unveiled, then Rs. 5,000 paid will be refunded. The company has also put up a contest, under which 10 lucky pre-bookers will be able to attend the exclusive launch event and they will be presented their handsets.

Canvas 4

Above all, the specs of Canvas 4 remain largely unknown. The lone confirmation is that the device features a 13 MP rear camera with a flash. It is also expected that the OS used could be Android Jelly Bean, but it won’t be 4.2 version. Rumors are rife that the device will be fueled by an octa-core processor. The screen is mostly likely to be full HD.  .

The success of earlier Canvas series phones from Micromax has been largely due to its high-end specs offered for low prices. In 2013, we saw the first HD smartphone from the range hitting the market followed with a 3D screen-equipped device and lately, an enhanced version of its second generation model was also unveiled.

The canvas 4 can be pre-booked through Micromax’s official website.

Verdict: The OS seems old, but could be worthy enough for the price offered.
