Review: LG Nexus 4

Nexus 4 is the new Google phone made by LG, which is similar to the  Optimus G. This new Google device possesses the fast quadcore Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5 GHz along with the latest Android 4.2 version of Jelly Bean.

The device lacks the 4G LTE support which will be considered as a main failure of this Google device. It doesn’t have a microSD card slot for additional memory.

Google is going to introduce the device in two models – an 8 GB version and a 16GB model.

The 4.7 inch screen of Nexus 4 is good as iPhone5’s screen with 1280 x 768 resolution and the Gorilla Glass 2 offers smoother swiping.

The 8 megapixel camera on the Nexus 4 is capable of 1080p HD video shoot and it can take Street View-style 360-degree panoramas. It is called Photo Sphere. The 1.3 megapixel front camera supports 720p video.

It supports dual band 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4 and NFC for Android Beam and SlimPort HDMI.

Under the hood, Nexus 4 holds a 2,100mAh Lithium Polymer battery that provides around ten hours of battery life.

Verdict

Nexus 4 is a high performing device with the latest Android version and other strong specs. But lack of 4G LTE and micro SD card slot will disappoint the customers.
