Review: Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon 27 Table PC

Lenovo’s latest IdeaCentre Horizon 27 Table PC is hoping to bring back families together, as it packs a set of accessories and a compelling multi-user interface along with outgoing family-friendly apps.

The Horizon 27 Table PC feels similar to a tablet and comes with a 27-inch glossy display surrounded by an inch of shiny black bezel. The device has a black matte plastic body, which is finished by another plastic band made by soft-touch rubber.

Power button is located at the lower left rear corner. Each corners of the device has small hard bumpers that keep the device firmly when it’s laying face up. A large metal folding hinge is also provided which enables the Table PC to sit in Desktop Mode.

The device also houses HDMI, card readers, headphone jacks, a microphone and a pair of USB 3.0 ports. The Horizon 27 sports a 10-point touch-screen 1080p display that delivers sharp, contrast and bright colors. The device comes with a Bluetooth keyboard which weighed at just 1.1 pounds and powered by two AAA batteries.

Lenovo’s IdeaCentre Horizon 27’s is powered by a 1.8-GHz Intel Core i5-3337U processor with 8GB of RAM and it delivers enough power to handle everyday tasks. The laptop is pre-loaded with Windows 8 OS along with Lenovo’s Companion app store. The Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon 27 Table PC is available with a starting price of $1,699.

Verdict

The Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon 27 Table PC comes with a bunch of family-centric apps and games. It has a better user experience and graphics performance.
