Review: Lava E-Tab Xtron+

Yet another tablet will be available for purchase from online retailers in India in a while. The E-Tab Xtron+ tablet launched by Lava International will sport a price tag that reads Rs 6,990. The E-Tablet Xtron+ is the latest version of E-Tab Xtron, which was launched in February and had sold for Rs. 6,499.

Xtron+ comes with a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch IPS display with resolution of 1024×600 pixels. This + version runs Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2. OS and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. A microSD card slot is provided for expansion up to 32 GB.

The tablet has a 0.3 MP rear snapper and 0.3 MP front facing camera. A battery of 3,700mAh powers the device, and the company claims five hours of video playback thanks to that.

The Lava E-Tab Xtron+ is loaded with apps from Edukart.com, Meritnantion.com and BigFlix. Users can get access to Vedic Maths package worth Rs 4,000 for free, or through the free Career Booster package. The tablet users get a special 20 percent discount on courses offered by Edukart.

Comparatively, E-tab Xtron is a 7-inch tablet, which runs on Android 4.1.1. Jelly bean, with resolution of 1024x600p, powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of internal storage with an option of expanding up to 32 GB via microSD.

The powerhouse is a 3,500mAh battery, which on fully charged, delivers up to four hours of life. The connection to web is only via Wi-Fi and the tab doesn’t offer 3G services.

Verdict: Pretty awesome a tablet for under Rs 7000
