Review: Gionee Ctrl V4

Chinese manufacturer Gionee has launched its Ctrl V4 smartphone in India, therby bringing about yet another budget device to the customers in the country. This is a low-budget quad-core smartphone, but not the first device from Gionee that comes powered by a processor with four cores.

The new device has officially been confirmed and boasts a capacitive FWVGA touchscreen with 480×854 pixel resolution. The Gionee Ctrl V4 is run on Android 4.2 OS and, as mentioned, it features quad core Cortex A7 chipset packed by 512 MB of RAM.

There is 0.3MP snapper on the front, which helps in video chatting and a 5MP snapper on the rear with LED flash. The camera also features auto focus and HD video recording capabilities.

Its onboard memory is limited to 4GB, but with microSD it can be expanded up to 32 GB. The powerhouse for this device is a 1,800mAh battery. The PowerVR Series 5XT GPU is an added attraction. The device is also accessible to Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G and Bluetooth for data transfer.
