Review: ASUS VivoTab RT

VivoTab RT tablet is the new Windows RT device from ASUS with a touch-friendly package.

Like other tablet devices from Asus, this one too has a 10-inch Super IPS+ display with 178-degree viewing angles and a 600-nit brightness rating. The device sports a subtle brushed metal finish with rubberized strip across the top. It is thin, light and easier to hold with its 1.5 pounds weight and 8.3 mm thickness.

The keyboard dock is made of metal and it provides a strong base for the keys. It is easy to use than a touchscreen keyboard but the buttons are tightly packed.

Other features on VivoTab include a quad-core Tegra 3 chip along with an 8-megapixel, autofocusing rear camera capable of recording 1080p video and a 2-megapixel camera for video chatting.

The device comes with a bright display so that you can use the device in outdoors and about its battery life it is remarkable.

The device holds a 25Wh battery that provides up to nine hours of runtime. The dock has a 22Wh capacity and it lasts for up to seven hours.

This Aus tablet is now available at a price starting at $599 for the 32GB tablet with a keyboard dock. A 64GB tablet including the dock package is also available for $699.

It is a thin and light device with long battery life and a good camera. But Asus maintained the conventional layout on its keyboard dock which restricts the typing experience.
