Nokia Asha 308 and Asha 309 Outed

Nokia has unveiled its new Asha line of smartphones – Asha 308 and Asha 309 – based on the series 40 platform.  The devices come with a 3- inch scratch resistant capacitive display.

Both the devices are the same except for the dual- SIM swap feature that’s is unique to the Asha 308. This feature permits the user to change SIMs without turning off the phone. The Asha 309 promises single SIM functions, Wi-Fi and an internet radio app.

Compared with the earlier Asha models, a significant improvement in the device is its new Nokia Xpress Browser. It uses cloud compression techniques that makes browsing fast and consumes less data.

The devices hold features like 2-megapixel camera, 2 GB microSD and runs Series 40 Asha Touch Operating System. Both the devices measure 109.9 x 54 x 13mm dimensions.

The new smart handsets come with a variety of social networking tools such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp messenger.

Akin to the earlier Asha 305, Asha 306 variants, these two new devices are preloaded with 40 EA Games including Tetris and Fifa 2012 and the users can even download 22 classic games including games like Ridge Racer, Pac-Man and Final Fantasy from the Nokia store by Namco.

The devices  are expected to sell for $99 (Rs 5,292) excluding taxes and subsidies.
