Nexus 7 Refreshed Variant Likely to Debut at Computex

We could be in for some special occasion the coming week when the Computex trade fair opens on June 4 in Taipei. Analysts expect Asus to launch a refreshed Nexus 7 tablet at this event.

This news could come in as a cool breeze to those who have been waiting for it.  The refreshed version is an 8.1 inch tablet with Windows 8 serving as OS and is powered by 1.5 GHz Intel processor. It also comes with 2GBof RAM, with options for buyers to go for either 32 GB or 64 GB internal storage versions.

Also expected is a new low-end tablets from Taiwanese computer manufacturers, Acer and Asus. It has been mentioned in a report that these low-end tablets could be designed for the emerging markets and the price could range between $100 and $150. It is also expected that MediaTek chipsets could be used in the new tablets.

Acer had teased some of the new products that would be officially launched at Computex, early in May. It had previewed a convertible laptop Aspire R7, a detachable notebook Aspire P3 and an 8-inch Android tablet Iconia A1. Acer W3, which showed up on an Amazon listing page in May, may also debut at Computex.

The 8.1-inch tablet running Windows 8 OS will be powered by 1.5GHz Intel processor. In addition to 2GB RAM, buyers will have the option of going for either the 32GB or the 64GB variants when it actually arrives.
