LG Optimus G Pro Sells Half a Million Units in 40 Days

Finally, LG has got success with their LG Optimus G Pro phablet. The company is already claiming record setting sales of 500,000 units. If this is true, then LG has sold over more than half a million units in just 40 days. According to LG, on the first day alone, they have sold over 10,000 devices across the country on pre-orders.

LG Optimus G Pro

The LG Optimus G Pro was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February and  made its launch in its home country, that is the South Korea. It has some high end specs like a huge 5.5-inch 1080P display, a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, a 13 megapixel camera, and 2GB of RAM.

The device also includes features such as a microSD slot, a 3,140 mAh battery and latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. On connectivity it supports NFC and LTE. We could say the heavy loaded specs made it so popular in the mobile market.

The figures indicate that the Optimus G Pro is more popular than its original Optimus G smartphone, which attained about 1 million unit sales in four months. The Optimus G smartphone was launched for South Korea, Canada, Japan and the United States.

The LG Optimus G pro will be available in the U.S. later this year but until now no carriers in America and Japan have committed to the handset.
