LG Optimus G Heading for a September Release

LG has always been looking to overtake Samsung with its devices. The effort has now taken the company closer with the announcement of a new smartphone christened Optimus G.

This device is considered to be the competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S III.

The handset sports a 4.7 inch TrueHD touchscreen, 2 GB of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera. The Optimus G would also sport a quad-core Tegra 3+ or Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC that supports VoLTE (Voice-over 4G LTE) and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. 

The device supports LTE-only, which means it will be available to LTE networks only. And while talking about its design specifications, we need to tell you that it is almost similar to the earlier Optimus L series, which includes the Optimus L7.

The device will launch in September. There are rumors that in theUSit will hop on to the Sprint network.

And, if the rumors turn to be true, then the Optimus G could also be the first quad-core LTE device released inNorth America.

There are chances that LG could make an announcement about this Optimus G at the IFA event to be held inBerlin this month. Stay tuned as we go looking for more.
