After months of rumors and speculations Apple introduced its latest version of iPhone, the iPhone5.

We all know that Apple always comes with better and improved devices and iPhone5 is not an exception. The new Apple iPhone5 is surely better than its predecessor iPhone4S.

It is common knowledge that both the devices – the iPhone4S and the iPhone5 – runs on the same Operating System iOS6. And, therefore, many Apple customers are confused about the new device.

Considering the design, the new model is thinner, lighter and taller than the iPhone4S. The new iPhone5 is 1.7mm thinner than the iPhone4S and 28 grams lighter than it and the back of the iPhone5 is made of aluminium – that helps it withstand physical shock.

Apple has upgraded the display in its new smartphone. Earlier versions of Apple phones had a conventional display size of 3.5 inch where the new one occupies a 4 inch larger display with Retina technology and 1,136×640-pixel resolution and 326ppi; 16:9 aspect ratio. Of course a large screen feels good when it comes to watching movies and videos.

On the camera front, the latest device holds 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and1080p HD video recording at 30fps. This offers features such as autofocus, face detection, HDR and panoramic shooting modes, f2.4 aperture, backside illumination, hybrid IR filter, five-element lens, dynamic low-light mode. A front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera is also provided with 720p HD video recording.

However iPhone4S comes with a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p HD video recording at 30fps, autofocus, face detection, HDR shooting mode, f2.4 aperture, backside illumination, hybrid IR filter, five-element lens and a front-facing VGA camera.

The new iPhone 5 is powered by a dual-core A6 processor that is twice faster than the dual-core 1GHz A5 processor in the iPhone4S.

Both the devices have iOS 6 as the operating system. Each iOS update offers many new features and this time with the iOS 6 we got features like Facebook integration, the Do not Disturb feature, Facetime over 3G and improved camera app with Panorama.

Another major change in the iPhone5 is its 4G LTE support. Its predecessor iPhone 4S was only compatible with 2G and 3G networks. In addition to the 4G the new device also supports iPhone4S’s Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and WiFi hotspot standards. But this time iPhone5 brings a better antenna and dual-band WiFi that promises faster connections to your local network.

Instead of its bigger display, LTE and high speed processor the iPhone5  battery is somewhat similar to its old version iPhone4S.
