HTC One S in Indian Market; Arrives with 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 Chip Under the Hood

The Indian smartphone market is all smiles with the HTC One S coming unto it, after much anticipation. However, buyers will have to compromise with a major change under the hood of device when it finally comes to their hands.

No don’t think it’s a minus, the Indian model of the HTC Smartphone will have a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S3 chip rather than a 1.5MHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor.

The Android ICS packed phone is similar to the HTC One S model launched in Singapore.

While the phone costs around Rs 33000 to Rs 36000 in India(i.e. 600 to 650 USD), HTC One S asks for S948 in Singapore, which roughly makes for  US$750. However, this could be a market induced strategy as we couldn’t find any major difference between the models.

Coming back to the Indian terrain, let’s look what the market will receive from the HTC One S. The phone will employ a 4.3-inch AMOLED Gorilla Glass qHD touch screen and a 8 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with LED flash, coupled with a VGA front facing camera.

Under the hood it has a 1.7GHZ dual core S3 processor with 1GB RAM, aided by 16GB expandable microSD storage.

Also the phone will feature HTC Sense 4.0 UI, Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and a 1650mAh battery, all inside in just a 7.8mm thick body.

We are yet to know what will be the response of the Indian market, however your comments might be helpful.
