Google Nexus to Ship by Mid-June

Google’s Nexus 7 tablet was getting closer to release when the device went up for pre order.

The Nexus 7 that was showing a shipping time of 3 to 4 weeks, has now been changed to1to 2 weeks and the device is expected to release around the middle of July.

Google Nexus features a 7 inch touch screen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The processing is provided by a quad one core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it also features a 12 coreGPU.

The Nexus 7 comes with Android 4.1 Jelly bean and it is available with a choice of either 8GB of built in storage of 16GB of built in storage.

Additionally, it will ship with Chrome as its web browser. The Nexus 7 does not completely use the widescreen-optimized interface used by other Android tablets; instead using a new interface mode in Android 4.1 optimized for 7-inch tablets.

It is expected that the Google Nexus 7 will be an extremely popular tablet, just like Amazon’s Kindle Fire was when it launched.

The 7-inch tablet, will be competing with similar devices such as the Nook Tablet, Kindle Fire and the Blackberry Playbook.
