Gionee P1 Arrives in India to Join Low-cost Android Phones

Mobile manufacturing firm Gionee has launched a budget new smartphone named Gionee P1 in India. The Gionee P1 is a dual SIM handset powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

This entry level smartphone sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touch display and has a pixel resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The handset comes with a 2-megapixel camera and it also features a front VGA camera.

The Gionee P1’s memory allocation may disappoint a few customers as it carries just 512 MB. But this can be expandable up to 32 GB using a micro SD card slot. The handset is powered by a 1,500 mAh battery.

On the connectivity front, the handset supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Gionee is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, which started its product sales in 2005. The company is ranked as No.3 brand in 2G market share in 2011 and placed at No. 2 in GSM market in 2012.

The Gionee P1 has been priced at Rs. 4,999 and comes with a phone case and screen protection film. The handset hasn’t arrived at any online shopping site as yet.
