Engineering Students Invent Anti-Rape Underwear that can Shock Sex Offenders

A group of engineering students in India have created an anti-rape underwear that protects its wearer from sexual abuse. This anti-rape lingerie emits powerful shocks and even alerts police and the woman’s family if she is attacked.

Anti-Rape Underwear

The anti-rape lingerie which is dubbed Society Harnessing Equipment (SHE) contains an electric shock circuit board near the breasts. According to the developers, the electric shock circuit board was placed near the breasts because their surveys had found most attackers targeted that area of the body first.

The lingerie is also equipped with a global positioning system (GPS) and global system for mobile communications (GSM). If someone tries to molest the wearer then they will get the electric shock at the right moment when pressure sensors get activated.

The GPS and GSM units would also send an SMS on emergency number 100, as well as to the family members of the girl. The pressure sensors on the lingerie are capable of sending shock waves of 3,800 kV and the shocks can be emitted up to 82 times.

Recently, the death of a gang rape victim has shocked the country and made a huge outcry in society. The anti-rape lingerie developers are students at SRM University in Chennai.
