BlackBerry Q5 Arrives in India for Rs 24990

The global decline in sales notwithstanding, BlackBerry handsets normally do attract much fanfare when it comes to India. The latest device from the BlackBerry stables to arrive in the market is the Q5, and it indeed is one wallet friendly device from the company.

Running BB10 OS, the device sports features such as the swipe-based user interface, physical QWERT keypad, and more. To be yours for just Rs 24990, the Q5 will be available starting July 20.

The device sports a 3.1-inch 720×720 pixel display of 328ppi. The company has included 2GB of RAM and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera capable of shooting 720p videos.

On the processing front, the BlackBerry Q5 comes with a 1.2GHz dual-core chipset, and that could be one reason for disappointment. Everyone would have expected at least a 1.5GHz processor.

Adding to the disappointment would be the stripped down features such as a 5-megapixel rear camera and 8GB of internal storage. But then, BlackBerry wants to sell it for under Rs 25000 and that could be the reason for the stripping down of the features.

You will be able to pick the device in color options of white, black and red.
