BlackBerry Q10 Sees Huge Demand in the UK

The UK residents who have been waiting to play with the BlackBerry Q10 and the company made that possible last Friday. Fans thronged the outlets of Selfridges over the weekend and made the device their own. For the record, Selfridges even announced that the Q10 has become their fastest ever selling product.


Sales just rocketed and in a matter of just two hours Selfridges sold out their initial stock. More stock came in so as to meet demand.

119.6 x 66.8 x 10.4 mm device weighs 139 g  and holds a QWERTY keyboard. The display is a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 720 x 720 pixels. The BlackBerry 10 OS driven device also sports a microSD of up to 64 GB apart from the internal memory of 16 GB.

The primary camera is 8 megapixels with autofocus, and LED flash. The chipset that it hides within is a TI OMAP 4470 processor and has a dual-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU.

The Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery ensures up to 10 hours of uninterrupted power on a single charge. According to Rob Orr, Managing Director, UK and Ireland, BlackBerry, the initial success at Selfridges has shown that there is strong consumer demand for this high-end physical keyboard smartphone.
