BlackBerry 10 OS Developer Phone at RIM Labs

BlackBerry freaks, here’s something awesome coming your way. RIM has announced that they will be releasing a second BlackBerry developer device later this year. RIM’s VP of Developer Relations, Alec Saunders has confirmed during the BlackBerry Jam that close on the heels of the official launch of the BlackBerry 10 device, there will be a second very limited edition version too.

The device will be made available to any developer who is lucky enough to get a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha unit and manages to get an app of his approved.

It seems like BlackBerry is doing this as they feel developers who have done a lot of work need to be rewarded. But then, they will not be upgrading the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha unit to the final version of the BlackBerry 10.

Whatever the deal is, it would be best for BlackBerry if they step up the game as they are currently far behind the rest of the global mobile vendors. They have already lost a lot of customers, and it seems like they will keep on losing them unless they do something good and unique.

Since they are being so secretive about the new BlackBerry 10 OS and seem to have a lot of hope in that creation, it might be good. But will it be as good as the Android or iOS? Not likely, but there still is a chance it can be. We just have to wait and see for ourselves by the end of the year.
