AT&T and Sprint LG Optimus G: Cam Comparison

LG Optimus G is a high end smartphone with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core 1.5GHz CPU with Adreno 320 graphics. No need to say that the device is fast. The AT&T and Sprint versions will sell the device for $199 on a two year contract. The AT&T version of Optimus G will be available on Nov. 2 and the Sprint version will be available on Nov. 11.

Both the LG Optimus G versions are high performing devices with better build quality and specs than any other Android device.

LG has tried to maintain all the main features on both devices but still there is a slight difference that comes in the camera front.

Sprint version comes with a 13-megapixel camera and AT&T’s sporting an 8-megapixel one. Does it affect the camera quality of the device? Lets find out.

Everyone knows that having more mega pixels doesn’t always mean better pictures. For an image quality sensors and image processors are also equally important.

But still we think that Sprint’s camera is the clear winner, because it produces bigger photos. The maximum photo size in Sprint’s 13 mega pixel camera is 4,208 x 3,120 pixels while AT&T’s is only 3,264 x 2,448 pixels.

The daylight images of both the devices are almost identical but in dark their image quality is different. The AT&T’s 8 megapixel camera performs better in dark light where the Sprint version is better on dim light. This doesn’t mean that pictures on the Sprint camera are always perfect.
