ASUS Padfone 2 Now Official

Remember the Padfone 2, smartphone/tablet device from Asus that was shown sporting incredible mobile flexibility? The device has just been made official.

Like the original Padfone, this one too combines a smartphone with a docking station otherwise called the PadFone Station Slate. It serves as a tablet when the phone is attached to it.

Padfone 2 sports a 4.7-inch Super IPS+ display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The device holds excellent features like a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. It ensures incredible performance in both tablet and smartphone mode.

The device carries 2GB of RAM, an offers two cameras – a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.4 aperture capable of 100 continuous full resolution and shoots six frames per second. The other one is a 1.2-megapixel front camera.

This amazing device is powered by a 2140 mAh battery that provides up to 16 hours 3G talk-time and 13 hours Wi-Fi web browsing.

The device  is pre-installed with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but ASUS confirms a Jelly Bean update in the near future. On the connectivity front the device supports NFC and LTE.

Asus has also modified its Padfone 2 Station. Now it is thinner, lighter and adds a 10.1-inch IPS display along with a 13 megapixel rear camera and 1-megapixel front camera.
