Apple iPhone5 Launch Will Put an End to iPhone3GS Sales

Only a few days are left for the Apple’s iPhone 5 launch and rumors are rife in the market.

Sources suggest that with the arrival of new iPhone model Apple is deciding to cut the old models such as iPhone 3GS.

Apple’s iPhone 3GS is now available for free at a two-year contract agreement. The phone was launched in 2009 and, since then, it has been one of the most popular devices from the Cupertino company.

Apple’s upcoming Operating System iOS 6 will be available in iPhone 3GS, but some apps like turn-by-turn navigation requires the new version handset.

Rumors suggest that after the end of sales of the iPhone3GS, the iPhone 4 will occupy the free-with-contract slot. There are also speculations that Apple is planning an 8GB iPhone 4S, but the price details are not available yet.

Like earlier times, this time too Apple will launch three iPhone5s with different storage options.  It may be 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB variants.

Apple’s big event is expected to get underway on September 21st, rather than the previously rumored September 12th.
