Apple iPhone 5 is Out of stock in Indian Market

Apple’s latest iPhone 5, which was officially launched in India last Friday, is out of stock. It is being reported that  within a couple of days most retailers are already out of stock.

iPhone 5 launched in India after more than a month of its release in the major markets. About 15,000 units were shipped to India for the first round of sales and according to analysts  100,000 iPhone 5 units was to be  sold in India in the first month.

The local mobile phone retailers and Apple’s service provider say that the fresh stock will be available for sale by the end of the week and they are taking early bookings for the next round of sales.

Well, this sale rate points at the high demand for Apple’s new product in Indian market. Based on the survey of Singapore-based research firm Canalys, around 200,000 iPhones are expected to be shipped to India by the end of December, 2012.

The main reason behind this large number of sales rate of iPhone5 in the market is due to the improved distribution system.

The device is not cheap in India. The 16 GB model of iPhone 5 sells for Rs 45,500, which is around US$833.
