Nokia and JBL Unveil PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker

Nokia and JBL have collaborated to develop a series of speakers for the Nokia Lumia range of smartphones. Dubbed JBL PlayUp Portable Wireless Speaker for Nokia, the new  speakers  would definitely catch your attention.

Wireless connectivity from the mobile device would be made possible via Bluetooth. It allows easy and wireless connection to any existing Lumia phone and for next generation Lumia phones based on Windows Phone 8, by tapping to connect with NFC.

The speakers provide a maximum output of 89dB and claims a 10 hours of continuous music with a single charge. It is, therefore, suitable for any outdoor or indoor purposes.

Kobuchi Smartphone App will Remind You When to Water Your Houseplant

Ever heard of the Koubachi system, the free app for houseplant care? For starters, this app will notify its users when it is time to water your plant.

The new and improved outdoor Koubachi system consists of a Wi-Fi water resistant sensor that sticks into the soil close to the plant.

This sensor measures the moisture, temperature and even the chemical changes in the soil and sends messages to the users iPhone.  The gadget only launches with an iOS app and available at a price tag of €129.

HTC Desire X White Version Up for Pre-order at Phones4U

Good news for those who are looking to purchase a HTC Desire X!  You can now pre-order the white version of the HTC Desire X at Phones 4U. The retailer has entered into a partnership with HTC to sell the handset.

The white version is similar to the original and has all the features that the HTC Desire X has. The device sports a 4-inch WVGA Super LCD touchscreen and is powered by a 1 GHz MSM8225 dual core processor.

It also includes a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash and 4GB of built-in memory.

Other significant features include HSDPA 42mbps, HSUPA 5.75mbps, Wi-Fi connectivity and HTC Sense 4.1. The handset it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to Launch Later This Year

Everyone is curious about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release and the other details about he phablet. But still it is unsure which of the carrier will introduce it first and when it would launch?

Latest information reveals that this 5.5 inch phablet will arrive at the end of 2012. Samsung is planning a US version of the Galaxy Note 2 later this year. The device will come with a more powerful, innovative and unique experience.

The device is powered by a1.6 Ghz quad-core processor with a 2GB of RAM. A 1280x 720 HD Super AMOLED touchscreen makes it is thinner, lighter and brighter than the earlier Galaxy Note.

Bell BlackBerry Bold 9790 on End of Life Status

Folks, do you remember the BlackBerry’s Bold 9790? Yes, the little brother of BlackBerry’s 9900.  The handset is in fact Blackberry’s shiny device with a physical QWERTY keyboard launched on December 2, 2012.

LG Optimus L9 Smartphone Ready to Take on Rivals

It looks like LG is ready for the race. The company has just announced another new smartphone christened Optimus L9. The Optimus L9 sports a 4.7 inch IPS display and powered by a 1GHz dual core processor.

Running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich this device features a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash and VGA front end camera.

1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 2,150 mAh battery are the other specifications of the Optimus L9.

Apart from all these specifications, this device features LG’s new QTranslator app. This can translate words and sentences from 44 different source languages to more than 60 user languages using optical character recognition technology.

Apple Falls to Seventh Slot in China Smartphone Market

Looks like Apple is losing its battle in the China smartphone space. The Cupertino-based company has lost its second position, and now has been ranked seventh in the country’s smartphone market.

Going by a report by information and analysis provider HIS, Apple has sold 5.2 million smartphones in China in the last quarter. And, this accounts for only 7.5 percent share of the total smartphone market in China and only one-third of Samsung sales.

In the meantime, Lenovo has managed to rise from seventh position to number two position in the Chinese market, where as ZTE is moved from number four to three.

Galaxy Note Goes Missing from T- Mobile Website

As you all know, T-Mobile had launched the Samsung Galaxy Note some time ago. However, look for the device on the carrier’s website ad you will know it is missing.

According to T-Mobile, they are out of stock for online sale, but the device is still available for purchase at selected T-Mobile retail stores. Obviously, this move from the carrier shows the possibility of the arrival of new Galaxy Note2 in the near future.

There are also rumors that the device’s popularity is the main reason behind this scarcity and it is expecting the EOL (End of Life) hit on November1st.

LG Teases Upcoming Smartphone on New Website

Phonemaker LG and chip designer Qualcomm are teasing an upcoming quad-core smartphone designed to take on the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

With the IFA going to kickoff in Germany next week, LG has confirmed their devices by creating a new website that talks about a new phone. This new phone is packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with a quad-core chipset, supposedly unparalleled in the world of mobile computing.

LG released a video promoting the Optimus 4X HD successor it was revealed that the smartphone will feature the second generation of Qualcomm’s quad-core processor called the Snapdragon S4 chip with an Adreno 320 graphics processor.

Nokia Lines Up 3 Windows Phone 8 Devices for September Event

We all know Nokia is gearing up to launch its new Windows Phone 8 devices on September 5th. And it will be a joint event along with Microsoft.

It was a widespread rumor that Nokia is going to unveil three devices on the event. One among the trio is the Phi, the future Windows Phone 8 device. Some sources reveal that the second device is called Arrow, which will be the part of the Lumia series. Both the devices look somewhat similar to Nokia’s Lumia 800 and 900 range.

Nokia is expecting to compete with Apple and Google with the Windows Phone 8 devices.
